Hointer, a store in Seattle provides a totally different experience to customers. This store has no staff, no shelves and walls but it still provides the shopping assistance. The store sells Men's jeans using QR codes. This is basically a new technology where shoppers can shop using their smart phones.
The store has 150 denims style all hanged on the floor fixtures with the QR code. All they need to do is download the Hointer app and then scan the QR Code on their selected item. The shopper scans the code with the app and is prompted to pick a size and click “try on.” The jeans are then waiting for the shopper in a designated fitting room by the time they’re ready to start trying things on.The information is sent over the Internet to a stockroom robot which finds the item in the correct size and drops it via a chute into one of the store’s dressing rooms. After trying it on if the customer wishes to purchase the item they can put it in a bag, swipe their credit card through a reader and leave the store without any human interaction. For video check out the link below.
